Do you even try?

NEEDS MORE GUNG!!

Troisnyx responds:

I thought you already gave it quite a good dose of gung, my good sir. <3

It's been a while since I've heard some proper banging techno tunes on Newgrounds, good job!

01:27. I think the lead that comes in is too quiet.
The breakdown at 01:54 could have introduced a new chord progression, the main one gets stale from here on.
02:21 loops the same stuff from earlier rather than something new.

Your sounds are all fine and well mixed for the most part but this piece gets boring to listen to from the lack of variety.

MaldivirDragonwitch responds:

I see your point. Thanks for your honest criticism, I appreciate it!
Also, this wasn't mixed, most of my work uploaded here are pretty much demos. :)

You really, really, really need to work on your mixing. The kick is completely drowned out the mix. You also have other bassy sounds playing like impacts while the kick is playing. This is really something that should be avoided.

I think the problem is that you simply don't have the right audio equipment to hear what's going on in the low end because to you, it probably sounds fine.

dukebartje responds:

It's very off on low-end mixing. I usually mix low end on a different system. So your comment is spot on! I'll mix it properly in the coming days and I'll post the new one. Let me know if the problem is still there then, because that would indeed indicate that the flaw is within my audiosystem! Thanks for the feedback!

Take that reverb off your bass drum.
At 00:35 did you just forget to place drums?

At your stage, I'd say to keep your music to yourself for now. You're not really at the stage where you can actually ask for feedback. It's like a painter asking for feedback on a stick figure.

BlueAlpha14 responds:

You didn't put anything in to your review bro.
There is drums at the drop. They're faint, but they're there. Half a star because you couldn't hear drums is a very unbalanced review.

And I'm not keeping music to myself. I benefit off of people reviewing. Newgrounds is for people trying to get on their feet. I can't listen to my own stuff and determine whether it's good or not from a listener's point of view. If you think my music is equivalent to a stick figure, my page obviously isn't for you. As I can try to make my tracks sound good I'm not a professional. Only difference is professionals probably didn't post their early stuff.

Thanks for the review, but I really want a more detailed one next time.

It's all listenable until 01:25 jesus. That is a great example of how not to mix. That synth is way too loud.

The impact at 01:44 is out of place, or you could have used that as the kick.

Keep practicing, this shows you have potential.

MysteriousPresence responds:

Thanks for the review ! :3
Yeah this synth was a bit loud I apologize ! X)
But honestly I think the impact of 1:44 is great, I wouldn't want to brag, but I think I wouldn't remove it ! =3
Thanks again ! =)

How are you expecting people to review this? There is absolutely nothing right about this. I suggest you listen to music more before trying to compose your own.

As a WIP, it's pretty fine. The sounds all work nicely together, nice build ups and transitions. Good luck with the full version, hope the quality stays up to this level throughout.

I'm really just nitpicking here, but that high hat that goes off every quarter note could maybe be made shorter or quieter.

TIMETRAVL responds:

Thank you, will do :D

Very inspiring piece but, did you cut your highs?
I really like the arrangement except for the outro. Fading out is a bit... bad and does not do this piece justice.

Noisysundae responds:

Nah. I even boosted the upper mids. That's why high notes are a bit louder.
I admit that I had no idea how to end this piece, though.

I produce a pretty diverse range of Electronic Dance Music.
